Hi. Im not sure what to write here ,I am a first time blogger and I have never even been on a blog website before so this could go badly :/ I go to LSAD (Limerick School of Art and Design) and this weeks project is around "to sense my space". I had no idea what to do and i think i still dont to be honest.
I did a mind mind on everything I could think of to do with space
I started with the concept of claustrophobia because i am an claustrophobic but i didnt want to stay on that too long because i feel like it is very much the obvious thing to start with ,i just wanted a starting point so i could develop onto something else.
So I was thinking about being close together and feeling trapped etc.I did some doodles and sketchs related to that theme.
i then moved on to creating space and negotiating space and i thought of when your on the underground in London ,on the escalators you have to move to the right to allowed people to run to their train so their negotiating the space and creating space for others. From there thinking about creating spaces I could not get the thought of bubbles out of my head.? I thought it was a stupid idea and still kinda do. However im going ahead with it. Your creating a enclosed space when blowing bubbles that no one can touch without damaging it. Its almost like its delicate and fragile.
I also like the idea that when there gliding through the air its like there examining the room, there using the space so it ties in with the theme of movement.
Well thats it for now ,Ill post more pictures and info when i have more work done.
Louise
